When most people think of motorcycle riders, images of tattooed, leather-jacketed, jeans-wearing bad boys with cigarettes screwed into their curled lips immediately comes to mind. DISPELLING THE MYTH
No one proves that better than British motorcycle racer Maria Costello. At 48 years old, Costello has had a long and impressive career as a professional racer, including being the first woman to both place in the Isle of Man TT and set a Guinness World Record for speed on the Snaefell Mountain Course.
Ana Carrasco is another racer who proves that motorcycles aren’t just for men. At the tender age of 24, Carrasco has amassed an impressive amount of trophies and accolades, including becoming the first woman to win a solo motorcycle racing championship in 2017 in the Supersport 300 World Championship. Perhaps more notably, Carrasco managed to achieve this despite several injuries, including a fractured humerus and several thoracic vertebrae.
